We arrived in Munich and met up with family and spent our time exploring the city and sightseeing. We tried German beer and pretzels and lots of sausages. The Marienplatz was beautiful and the parks around the city had amazing views. We entered museums and marveled at the art and architecture and rich history of Germany. From Munich, we did a day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle. The castle is spectacular and beautifully situated in the mountain. In April, the mountain was snowy and white, and we had the option to walk up to the castle or get a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. The castle itself is amazing, although the tour is only of a very small portion. They offer tours in numerous languages, and it was an interesting and informational experience. The art in the castle is unique, and the views are gorgeous. After our tour of the castle, we walked over to tourist shops and got a bite to eat.

The Highline179 is a long suspension-style footbridge that connects two mountains in Austria and is 114 meters high and 406 meters long. On one side of the bridge, we explored an old castle's ruins and on the other, we saw Fort Claudia which was an old fortress in the 17th century. Each end had a wonderful view and a lot of history to learn and explore. We felt how the people in Medieval times lived, and it was really cool. The walk across the bridge was incredible and definitely for those who like the rush of adrenaline. Walking across was actually extremely scary because the bottom is not solid, so you can see the rush of cars happening over 100 meters below you. The bridge had amazing views of the mountains and after the long walk across, we went into the town below to drink something to calm our nerves.

We arrived in Switzerland to see an amazing waterfall in Rheinfalden. The waterfall was huge, and we took a boat tour around the water and met some other tourists along the way from other parts of Europe and the rest of the world.  There were many tourists, but we appreciated the wildlife that lived in the water where the waterfall was. The Rhine falls is the largest waterfall in Europe, and we got to walk all around it, staring at the top where we watched it from above, and then we went to a lower landing where we were literally standing underneath the waterfall. Afterward, we ate at a restaurant that had a view of the waterfall and shopped around the tourist shops, where we tried the famous Swiss chocolates. The prices were quite high as the area was a big tourist attraction, but it was a fun excursion and totally worth it.
