Highs & Lows

Hiking in Mont Blanc and reaching the top

There is no night life in the town if it is not on the weekend

Itinerary Overview

On the first day we rented the car, arrived at the guest house and went out to a bar at night. When we got to the bar they had many types of drinks and we felt very comfortable. We walked around town and went to some parties that included techno style music, when we called it a night, the place was full of students on their weekend which made us enjoy it more because we were not the only ones in town. we finished the evening got into the car and drove back to the hostel. In the morning we woke up to a great breakfast and from there we drove to the town, inside the town we parked the car and took the cable car to the top of the mountain, we hiked the mountain for 5 hours and went back down to the town, ate at a good restaurant and drove back to the hostel to sleep so that we would have the energy to go out again in the evening. When we left again there weren't many people anymore and it was a calmer evening. So we drank beer and went back to the hotel.

The way to the town Chamonix

We arrived in France on Friday and rented a car to go to the town of Chamonix. We arrived at the guest house Heliopic Hotel & Spa, put our things down and went out to a local bar, we were lucky because it was a Friday night, and there were a lot of young students out. We drank beer, ate olives and it was fun to see the street full of tourists, from there we walked 10 minutes to a local party, the music was in the techno style, the lighting of the place and the paintings were impressive and the people were also very nice. We then went on to another party but we were already tired and decided we wanted to go to one last bar before going back to the hotel. So we found a small place where we watched a football match, had a last beer and from there we drove back to the hostel. To sum up the first day, I highly recommend the town especially on weekends because the rest of the days there is no nightlife there, I enjoyed the culture of the people and the atmosphere in the town. It was wonderful

The next day we woke up to a great breakfast at the hotel, and from there to stay in an Airbnb in a small village nearby, a little more quiet and close to nature. we checked in and then we continued back to Chamonix. We got out of the car and to get on the cable car that will take us to the beginning of the trek. The routes were easy to climb and when we reached the top we were above the clouds and the view was amazing! In the afternoon we went back down to the town and had dinner at a perfect restaurant called "La Petit". In the evening almost no people went out and the city was quiet. On our third and last day we walked around the small village and ate local food, we also went for a trip with the car towards a lake in the neighboring town. The view of the lake was great and the weather was also wonderful. After that we continued driving back to the airbnb and made ourself some dinner. In conclusion, the experience was great, we enjoyed the culture, the food and the views. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a few days of peace and class

Q & A

  • What would you have changed?

Arrive in September instead of November
  • Restaurant recommendations?

Porterhouse Grill, Heine's Wine & Dine.
  • Packing tips?

Warm clothes on a cold evening there
  • Transportation Tips?

Don't stress if you can't find where to return the rental car, Switzerland's airport is adjacent to France's airport and the navigation there is confusing. Ask the taxi drivers, they know best
  • Any surprises?

La P'tite Verte, Panier des 4 saison.

Lodging
