SHORT TIME LIVING IN COSTA RICA

I landed in Juan Santamaria airport which is located in Alajuela, it is a city located next to San Jose which is the capital of the country. I decided to stay 3 days there because I realized it is a very warm city with nice bars where you can drink a beer and share a little bit with the locals.

The bar I chose in Alajuela was "Recuerdos Bar" which is a place with the old fashion concept with pictures of huge legends like Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe,  Alberto Vasquez, etc. you'll feel very identified if you're a musician like me since you will find a lot of starts that inspired the world that we live in right now and the music in that place is also amazing which helped me to know my first Costarican friends although it was just for a couple of nights since I wanted to go to the capital of the country which is San Jose.

I arrived in San Jose on October 28th of 2019 at the hostel "Costa Rica Backpackers" and I have to say that it was one of my most pleasant experiences in a hostel since it has all the necessary details to make your experience the best in the city.

THE POOL

It has a nice pool in the middle of the hostel for it to be used for all the guests but be careful because the water is too cold to be used in the night!. I'm a music producer so most of the time I need to be working in front of my computer for long periods of time and what I loved about this hostel is that outside next to the pool it has 4 of those long chairs that you can find when you go to the beach but these were kinda like a sofa! very comfortable and next to the garden also outside, the kitchen was close by which made me easier the task of cooking my food.

I met several friends in my long stay in Costa Rica Backpackers like Jancy which was the lady at the front desk giving you information about the most beautiful touristic places in the country, as well as Tzofia, she was from Israel and she was traveling through several countries in Latin America. We stayed awake the whole night playing guitar since she was leaving the next day.

for a small period of time, I worked in a bar 5 blocks away from the hostel called "LA ESTACION" which was one of the best experiences in my life since I learned how to be a bartender, waiter, and many other tasks that involved making drinks for the customers and getting to know a lot of people as well as sharing them a little bit of my culture since it was evident that I was not born in CR because of my accent.

I wanted to explore a little bit more about Costa Rica since I was living just in the main city, which has no touristic places to visit so I went to Uvita which is a beautiful beach located in Puntarenas province.

It is a very relaxing place if you're looking for some water and sun. You will also find a lot of people surfing because waves are perfect for that sport. I didn't even try it because I'm not that good with the board and I didn't want to have an accident even though I know how to swim, but there are more activities that you can enjoy in the town like buying souvenirs that you can find on every corner or eating some seafood which you will find in the numerous restaurants around the beach.

Nights are not that enjoyable because I didn't see that much bars around (maybe because I didn't even make an effort to look for them) but you can see locals selling food informally which is better if you're trying to find something really from Costa Rica and not a restaurant itself

I got there by bus and the most famous company that can take you there is TRACOPA which are buses that go until the Panama border, they are comfortable and if you're traveling in the night the windows are tinted so you can sleep well.
