Seattle - Centrally located and fun - Call the front desk and ask to book room 448! it’s called the Diva’s Dressing Room and is the only room in the hotel with a balcony. It’s in the southeast corner and has a jacuzzi tub. Note it has two double beds though, not one king! Get cozy!

Always stay here when I visit seattle. It’s a good home base with free bikes for borrowing and a top notch desk staff. They handled fedexing shopping home to me when i overpacked the carry on bag and easily suggested nearby services like laundry on a longer trip last summer and great nearby restaurants and cafes.

Q & A

  • What would you have changed?

Can we please redesign the entire town of Long Beach to put the lodging and restaurants right on the beach instead of in the little town just a quarter mile inland?
  • Restaurant recommendations?

Toulouse Petit on Queen Anne is always great for a date and is walking distance to the Maxwell. El Camino in Fremont has amazing food. The Crab Pot on the Seattle Waterfront was a good super tourist experience. Citizen on Taylor near the Maxwell was great for outdoor brunch.
  • Tips you would give a friend?

Drive your car right onto the beach in Long Beach, but be careful you don’t go into too soft sand and get stuck.
  • Transportation Tips?

Twisty roads to the beach are a joy. Would have been fun in a convertible in the summer, but our SUV and laughing with old friends on the drive went fine.

Lodging

  • Airbnb condo with a great view of the ocean. Several good ones to choose from. Couldn’t find one right on the beach though.

  • The Maxwell Hotel - a fun hotel with a stylish and whimsical pineapple theme. The boyfriend joked that the entire hotel was an expression of my personality. Not sure what to make of that! The bed was super comfortable and the room included 10 dollars of snacks each day from the front desk. The staff were super friendly and nice and the entire place felt more fancy and expensive than the pricetag. Location was excellent for us in walking distance to great restaurants and the space needle for maximum touristing.
