Highs & Lows
Dive with giant Manta Rays in Catalinas islands!
Santa Teresa, terribly dusty and for me without much interest...
Itinerary Overview
Costa Rica. Small country so warm, with a luxuriant nature and with people so welcoming. When I left France for my big adventure to the heart of Central and South America, Costa Rica was the first country on my list. 2 months of riding around, soaking up the lightness, enjoying the "pura vida".
During this trip I spent two weeks on the North Pacific side and I fell in love with the endless beaches and their crystalline waters, with the so diversified terrestrial and marine life, with the friendly atmosphere which reigns there every day, with this so generous nature.
Q & A
What would you have changed?
If I had known I would have stayed in Montezuma instead of Santa Teresa.
How was the food?
Beachside restaurants often offer seafood dishes, more or less good depending on the place. For my part, I have never been disappointed by the ceviches!
What tips would you give a friend?
In Costa Rica, it is necessary to live at the rhythm of the "Pura Vida", not to be in a hurry and to relax completely!
Packing tips?
Bikini, towel and flip-flops!
Transportation Tips?
By local buses or by cab always negotiating a good price especially for the longest distances!
Any surprises?
A small scorpion came to snuggle in my bed and stung me twice! A sting that burns 15 minutes and then goes away, phew!
Booking details?
During this trip I always stayed in hostels, generally all well maintained
Lodging
3 different hostel in Tamarindo, the best one was La Botella de Leche!
A quite dirty hostel super crowded...
A very welcoming hostel located 2 minutes walking from the beach
