The beach was kind of crowded

Itinerary Overview

When we decided to travel to San Andrés we were searching for some relaxed vacations, different from the other trips I made where we wanted to know as much as we could about the culture and the history of the cities, this time we just wanted to relax. Our itineraries were totally flexible, we wanted to go to the beach but also we wanted to enjoy the famous seven colored sea that makes San Andres famous.

The days were perfectly sunny and the tropical weather was nice, so everyday we had different things to do, first we wanted to make a tour through the whole island, that is a really good idea because the people in charge of the tour knows exactly where to take you, the views were beautiful, with the gigantics palm trees, there they took us to the “Hoyo soplador”, a really popular place there, then we visited Johnny Cay Johnny Cay it’s a little island and you can get there by boat, the special thing about this island is that it’s filled with trees, a lot of them! and the sand it’s so white and clean, plus, the sea looks even more colorful there.

And of course the most important thing about San Andreas: The sea. The sea it’s full of every kind of fish, they are just amazing to watch! It looks just like a dream and we can’t forget about the coral barrier, the one that keeps the waves small and makes the sand so white

In terms of food, is an island, so the most typical dish you’ll find is the fish, it’s the signature dish of almost every San Andres original restaurant and there is also the “patacón” fried plantain with some stew on top, I thought it was delicious, but you should try it yourself.

The day we were going to visit Johnny Cay we woke up around 8 or 9 am, because we wanted to take as much advantage as we could from this experience. That same day we looked for a boat to rent, with someone who knew how to drive it off course, and we found one right on time, they put us the life jackets and we went right away, when we got there it was just beautiful, like a caribbean paradise, with the white sand, beautiful sea and tons of trees, plus it wasn't as crowded as San Andres , it's a beautiful place, perfect if you want to take the most beautiful pictures

One of the most common activities for the tourists is to take a tour through the island and there is something special about it; The whole tour is in a Golf cart, you can rent it and drive it yourself or hire the guide too, the roads are well signalized so I don't think you'll get lost, however the principal attraction of the Island it's called "El hoyo Soplador" and it's a natural rock formation that push the water and air that comes with the waves all the way up throught a hole, you can stand by a hole and feel the breeze or as the islanders believe if you're lucky, you can get a little wet

I bet you've heard about the 7 colored sea of San Andreas, but believe me, it's more beautiful than you think. In San Andres we decided to pay a submarine trip, we had a great time! The further we went, the more fishes we saw, they were all colorful. We also got to see a fish Just like Dory, a pacific blue tang fish, Later we went to "Cayo acuario" and it is called the aquarium because of the incredible amount of fish you can find there, you can do snorkel and see the wonderful fish. We did both things separated but you can easily buy a megatour that includes both of them.
