Roadtripping in France/Italy

Annecy:
The old town of Annecy is really beautiful, although often filled with many tourists. Next, you can walk through the big park that is situated on the lakeside, or go shopping in the new part of town. Annecy is a really sportive town, so there are a lot of cool surf- and skateshops. 

Around Lac d'Annecy:
Around the lake, there are many small towns with restaurants, little beaches, rental shops for sups, kayaks, etc, and a lot of options for accommodation. We decided to stay on a campsite on the other side of the lake because we were looking for some quiet and watersports. You should take into account that Lac d'Annecy is gigantic and there is usually a lot of traffic on the circular road around the lake. If you want to spend most of your time in the town, choose an accommodation nearby or you'll spend a lot of time in your car. It takes at least an hour (or much more at rushhour) to drive around the lake.  

Lescheraines:
The campsite of L'Ile du Cheran is such a beautiful place! It has its own lake where you can swim or go wakeboarding. Nearby are some cute little towns with markets, and we did some nice hikes as well. From the campsite you can walk to the waterfall of Pissieu, and you can hike in the forest of the Pont du Diable where you will see a really impressive cavern.

Turin:
Torino is a really beautiful town with a nice vibe. We didn't really do any touristy stuff because we worked remotely during the day, and visited friends during the nights. Plus we already knew the city.
The big Parco del Valentino is really nice to relax with a book on the grass or walk around. Nearby you have the neighbourhood of San Salvario which is really hip and has a lot of coffeebars, restaurants, little parks,... There are some good shops for wine or coffee and a lovely market where you can fill your suitcase with all of the typical Italian deliciousness of fruits, vegetables, cheese, fresh pasta,...

Anduze:
Anduze is a small town with a beautiful historic city center and many small streets to get lost in. Every Thursday there is a big evening market spread throughout the whole town. You can buy typical local produce (safron!), crafts, souvenirs, etc. We discovered some really nice vegetarian restaurants as well.
Close to the town of Anduze you can visit the Bambuseraie, which is basically a botanical garden full of bamboo. Lovely to visit on a scorching hot day because the bamboo provides for some nice cool shade. Very beautiful place, inspiring for gardening-fans and definitely worth visiting.

Kayaking the Herault
Nearby Anduze are some options for kayaking. We drove out to Aubanel to kayak on the river the Herault. The nature is amazing, you pass some impressive gorges and along the way are many small beaches to take a break. Look up to see the beautiful rocks and trees, and look down to see the many fish in the clear riverwater.
