The Zócalo is a vibrant social hub with many street vendors and local restaurants.

We walked toward the Santo Domingo church which is the most famous church of the city.

It is home of the Oaxaca ethnobotanical garden and the Santo Domingo cultural center which are both very touristic place.

We had lunch at el escapulario to Try mole which is the main food speciality of the region.

In the evening we went to try mezcal at la mezcalerita where they had many different types of Mezcal

The second day we took a bus to go to Hierve el agua which is around 70km of Oaxaca and easily reachable by local bus.

Hierve el agua is a natural formation of a calcified waterfall next to a mountain.

There is hiking trail there that you can do alone or with a guided tour. Try to go early as it can get very warm there.

On top, there is 2 natural pool where you can end the day after the hikes.

The view are spectacular.

Try to go early to avoid the crowd and the heat.
