Highs & Lows

The delicious food you can taste

The weather in Venice, it was very bad this season

Itinerary Overview

Our trip begins in the north of Italy, exactly in the city of the 100 islands, Venice, very early we went to take the vaporetto to arrive at the port that is in front of the traditional hotel Gabrielli, although the climate was not the best, because we were in spring season and it rained all our stay in the city. With an umbrella in one hand and a map in the other we started to go through its magnificent channels arriving first to San Marco Square, where the famous Ducal Palace is located, in this great square you can find all kinds of commercial, luxury, low cost and infinite number of restaurants, once you go into the channels it is very easy to lose the sense of location, at least that happened to us, if it wasn't for a Google Maps map that we previously downloaded at the hotel, we would have gotten lost. However, we finally arrived at the Grand Canal, where we could admire from above the magnificent Venetian buildings.

The next day we left by bus to the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence, we arrived at night and exhausted by a long trip by land, so the first thing we wanted was a gelato so we went to the Baroncini gelateria, highly recommended for its variety of flavors and attention to foreigners, by the way I ate a vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips, and my BFF one of pistachio with Chai Tea. After resting that night we went out to tour the city, especially the historical center, we visited the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza Della Signoria, where the famous David by Michelangelo is located and of course the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore. If you go to Florence you can't leave without having lunch or dinner in Piazza Della Signoria there are very rich and elegant restaurants, we decided to eat at the Ristorante Frescobaldi Firenze.

And to finish our tour, we went to the French Riviera again, this time to Nice, this city is undoubtedly one of my favorite places in Europe, does not have a spectacular climate, beautiful landscapes and best of all a fairly quiet pace of life, we stayed at the hotel Novotel Nice Centre Vieux, is very comfortable and modern, also is throughout the city center which makes it very easy to go to the beach, airport, and other tourist attractions in Nice.
