Itinerary Overview
I traveled for 8 weeks in Nicaragua and I can tell you it is a beautiful country. In the north you will find mountains, waterfalls and lush untouched nature. There are nice colonial cities with typical buildings, parks and a lot of history. The country isn’t developed that much, so it is quite normal if you see a horse and carriage passing by in the city center. In general it is a cheap country to travel what is ideal for a backpacker and that you can see in the most places. Luckily I spend the most of my time on the islands of Nicaragua and especially at the corn islands there was not so much tourism at the moment I was there. On Ometepe there is more tourism. I didn’t notice much from it because at Inanitah, a spiritual community, you are only surrounded with nature and beautiful views around.
