Itinerary Overview
Starting out our trip meant taking a flight all the way over to Halifax, the closest stop. Trying to take it slow and calmly after a long flight, the plan had been to stay the night over in the city, giving us a little bit of time to go around and visit this new place. This waterfront city has a lot of beautiful spots to visit and fun things to do, even if we didn’t have much time to visit it, we had the chance to see an overview of all it had to offer. I loved walking by the waterfront boardwalk, being able to stare at the boats and just enjoy the cold by the water, if I had had more time I would have loved to go canoeing by the harbour where people go to most days and every weekend. We learned there’s a lot to do in Halifax, not only museums but a lot of nature related activities to do, such as hiking around places such as Point Pleasant Park or going on boat trips to discover the beautiful islands and mountains around. Even though our time there was pretty short, it left us wanting more to discover every corner.
After spending the night in the city, we took a car for about an hour to a lovely town called Truro, where we met some of the locals with whom we would be staying with. Staying with someone who lived there had many perks, we had the chance to taste some homemade food, like a lot of fresh salmon from the river, which was just a few minutes away from the main road, and even Thanksgiving dinner. Between that and a couple of days of regular life but somewhere new, we had a great time simply going to the mall for some shopping, hamburgers and a movie. It was like feeling right at home.
Finally we drove back to Halifax for a plane that would take us all the way to Montreal. This city was mind-blowing, not only was the language different but the feeling was incredible, it felt like we had traveled to a completely new country. This is a beautiful city to walk through, it has an European feel to it and incredible architecture, such as you can see in the Notre-Dame Basilica, or simply stumble upon buildings on a walking tour. A very cool tour we were able to take was around the Olympic Village, visiting all the facilities and parks around it; it’s not something I had done before and found it absolutely brilliant.

Halifax Regional Municipality We were passing through Halifax and only stayed for 1 night but we managed to do some sightseeing like Halifax boardwalk.
