Itinerary Overview

We arrived in the morning in motañita, we found a camping and we went out to visit the small town full of restaurants, bars, hotels and a lot of artisans art that are on the street and soon we saw the beach that at that moment the Tide was full, there were impressive waves. and on the same day we met some travelers who were living for a few months in motañita who recommended us an apartment that they rented a week that was in front of the sea and the next day we moved to this apartment because there was much more convenience and a good price.

For those who like big waves, there is no better beach in Ecuador. The small town of Montañita is one of the main surfing destinations in South America. It is considered by many specialized sites as the best beach for surfing in Latin America and one of the best in the world.

Q & A

  • How was the food?

Caña grill has the best burgers that are cooked on an open grill and have many options to choose from. The fries are also very tasty

  • Packing tips?

bring sunscreen, bathing suits and a hat. in the period that I went that was in the month of July it was always cloudy and at night it was a little cold so if you go this month I recommend that you bring a little more sheltered clothes

  • Transportation Tips?

You can travel to Montañita by bus or privately. The cheapest way is by bus and the trip lasts approximately three hours if you take the direct transport provided by the Libertad Peninsular cooperative. Another option is to take a bus to Libertad and then take a bus to Manglaralto and get off at Montañita but this option takes more time.
