Great Ocean Road: from Melbourne to Adelaide

We rented a camper van in Sydney, made our way down to Melbourne and then went via the Great Ocean Road all the way up to Adelaide and back to Melbourne, all in all we had 1 month for this trip.

Itinerary Overview

We spent almost 2 weeks making our way from Melbourne to Adelaide and back again to Melbourne. This Trip included for sure the great ocean Road and also the Grampians National Park which I would highly recommend. As you’ll always be close to the ocean along this Trip I would recommend getting a surfboard to go surfing whenever you want! We made our way up to Adelaide where we stayed for one night before heading to Kangaroo Island. Here we stayed for 2 Nights, as the Ferry with our van was really expensive and we wanted to make the most of it. Our way back led us through the hinterland with empty roads and hidden towns, until we reached Melbourne again where we stayed for 2 months in total because we also worked there. During this trip we always stayed at free camping spots which are often just parking lots at the beach or in the forest but totally fine.
