Girls trip to peninsula Usedom (Baltic sea) in Germany

On Usedom, the outside world just takes a break. While you're on this island there are no problems existing. Together with three friends I escaped busy Berlin for five days.

Highs & Lows

Nudist beach & Fischbrötchen (fish sandwich)

Nothing.

Itinerary Overview

We arrived by train in Zinnovitz and had to walk about 20 minutes to the harbor of Karlshagen, where we stayed at a holiday flat of one of my friends. We were very lucky, because we had direct sight on the boats and the inland lake of the peninsula.

What I can recommend is to rent bikes at a local shop and explore the island on two wheels. Everything is flat and easy to reach. You can cross the whole island in about 30 minutes.

You definitely have to try the various Fischbrötchen. I usually eat vegan, but for this delicacy I made an exception. The fish you can buy there is very fresh and delicious, so in the evening we often prepared the most fancy fish with some vegetables and enjoyed the meal on our terrace.

What I liked most was the nudist beach. We four girls set our boobies free as soon as we got there and I really enjoyed to feeling of freedom. At first you have to get used to it, but after some time it feels quite natural.

One of my highlights was renting a motorboat in Peenemünde. You don't even need a drivers license. We just went to the local little harbor and a guy explained to us how the boat works and gave us recommendations on where to go. It was a great experience to drive a boat on my own – especially because there were no guys with us, so everyone could try riding it without dumb comments.

The five days passed way too fast, but we're planning to return soon!
