Highs & Lows

Beautiful beaches

We didn't get enough time

Itinerary Overview

On our cruise, we had the opportunity to go to Aruba and Curacao, and even though we didn't have a lot of time to get to fully know the Islands, we had a great time there. To begin with, we started taking a tour bus so we could meet a few of the most important parts of the island in a short amount of time. The bus stopped in every touristic place and gave you some information about it so you could know more about that place and take a few pictures there. Once the tour was over we decided to spend some time at the beach, so we could go into the sea or simply rest under the sun, then, when the sun was going down we went downtown just so we could walk around to see more of the city buildings and also to find some souvenirs. The weather was sunny and hot.

One of the most beautiful things of Curacao are the views, the sea is blue and the beaches are clean, but one of the most famous things about Curacao are the houses; the houses there are painted with beautiful vibrant colors , it is the perfect place to take a picture. The weather is hot and sunny so I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to spend some quiet and relaxing vacations. You can also visit the Savonet museum where you can learn a bit of Curacao's history or you can go to the Alma Blou art gallery that is also considered a cultural center. Another different place you could meet is the Floating Market, a place in the Island where you can buy fresh fruits, vegetables or even seafood at a low price. Another place you could go is the Rif Fort, a mall that was built inside an old fort, you can go shopping and find souvenirs there.

In Aruba we had the opportunity to stay a bit longer, but since we still had only a day, we decided to take the tour bus. Aruba's landscape is absolutely different because even though it has a beautiful coast once you go a bit deeper into the island you will find a desert like view, this is the Arikok Park and it's filled with rocks and Cacti, with proper footwear you can take a walk through this beautiful place and appreciate the Plants. You can also visit the ostrich farm where you could spend your time with these impressive birds typical of this island's ecosystem just like the flamingo's. Aruba is a great place to relax as it has beautiful beaches and a warm sea. The island is also filled with colorful murals that show the representative animals and plants of the island and the famous quote "Aruba, one happy island" where you could take a lot of pictures.

Q & A

  • What would you have changed?

I would've stayed a bit more because there are a lot of places I couldn't spend as much time in as I would've wanted.
  • Restaurant recommendations?

Try the typical food instead of the big chain restaurants.
  • Tips you would give a friend?

If you're staying for a short time, take a tour bus, it is the best way to get to know a bit of everything.
  • Packing tips?

Summer clothes and lots ohats and sunscreen
  • Any surprises?

We weren't expecting to go for a long walk in Aruba's Arikok park, so I would advise taking proper foot wear with you.
