Itinerary Overview
This summer I visited ciudad de Mexico and decided to do a detour to San Miguel de Allende. We rented a car and started driving at 4am since it is a 4-hour long drive. When we arrived, we went to hour hotel called Pila Seca which was spacious and pretty, we only stayed 1 night. The hotel was very close to the central plaza, so we walked there and saw the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel. The cathedral is very beautiful and is surrounded by shops in which you can buy handcrafts. We walked around for a bit and visited other cathedrals nearby. Then we walked to the Rosewood hotel, which is beautiful, if you can afford it, I recommend you stay there. We went to the rooftop in which there is an incredible view of the city and we stayed there to have drink and watch the sunset. The food and drinks of the rosewood hotel were excellent.
The next day we had brunch and catch the local tram that would give us a tour. The tram takes you to the top of San Miguel de Allende while it narrates the story of the city and then takes you to a shop where you can taste some of the city’s popular food and drinks like mezcal and chocolates. Then it takes you back to the plaza. After that we went back to the rosewood hotel (it really is amazing) and had lunch there. Then we checked out of our hotel and drove to the Fabrica La Aurora an old textile fabric which is now home of many art galleries. Then we drove back to Mexico city.

Rosewood San Miguel de Allende beautiful hotel and perfect view of the city
Then we walked to the Rosewood hotel, which is beautiful, if you can afford it, I recommend you stay there. We went to the rooftop in which there is an incredible view of the city and we stayed there to have drink and watch the sunset. The food and drinks of the rosewood hotel were excellent. I highly recommend the churros, margaritas, and the fish tacos. The hotel is huge and is also a great place to work or just grab a coffee. Even Though we didn't stay there we wanted to see it, so we walked through the hotel. It is very big and has a big pool and beautiful hallways with nature to walk by. The suites have beautiful terraces that have a view to the pool and the outdoor gardens. If you want to go and watch the sunset, I recommend making a reservation beforehand since at this hour the rooftop is very popular.
