Itinerary Overview
This trip was intended as our Christmas present, and we were very excited to get to see the scenery and all that we had heard about it. However, it wasn't just the scenery, we were also interested in seeing how culturally they celebrated Christmas.
We arrived at Reykjavik late on the 23rd of December. We enjoyed a traditional Icelandic meat soup served on bread, which was delicious, and it warms us up as it was very cold! The next day, we started our experience very early in the morning. Unfortunately, in winter the days are short, so you do not have a lot of time to explore in the daylight.
Iceland is all that you see in the pictures and more, the starry nights and landscapes make it one of the most beautiful places to visit. The weather can be a problem for some, but it is worth it all to enjoy this place. However, a beautiful and rewarding experience.
Q & A
What would you have changed?
Maybe go in spring when days are longer.
What tips would you give a friend?
Save money before you go as Iceland is expensive and there are so many things to explore.
Transportation Tips?
Hire a car as the distances are long and it's almost impossible to get to some places without a car.
Any surprises?
Even more beautiful that what we thought it would be. I was in awe.
