Highs & Lows
Sicily is famous for its delicious pistachios. Try it with pasta, on pizza and of course gelato!
Sicily in august was VERY hot so if you are sensitive keep that in mind and travel in a month when its a bit colder.
Itinerary Overview
We arrived in Catania in the late afternoon and went streight to our airbnb to drop off our bags, to buy some groceries and get something to eat. Right in front of our Airbnb was a restaurant with beautiful lights so of course we had to check it out. We ordered 3 huge pizzas, tiramisu and ended our day with a glass of wine. The next days we ate breakfast in our Airbnb, explored the city, ate A LOT of gelatos, and found an amazing beach. At the beach you could order your drinks over WhatsApp, and they brought it to our sunbeds. You could see the volcano Etna from the beach which was just stunning. After a wholesome day at the beach, we went to a karaoke bar and sang together with locals. Such a fun experience.
Q & A
What would you have changed?
We also checked out the public beaches but regretted it immidiately because the other beaches were easier to reach, the water and the beach itself were just better and you can order cocktails, other beverages and food if you want. We also felt safe to leave our stuff on the sunbeds while going into the water together at the private beach.
How was the food?
We had the most incredible time at Al Vicolo Pizza & Vino. They have pizza that will make you you do an its-so-yummy-dance and Tiramisu that will make you fall in love. Definitely try out the pistachio pizza and tiramisu. For drinks & karaoke check out Pasha Pub. I promise you will have a great time there. You can also enjoy a hookah there.
Transportation Tips?
You can easily travel by bus. You just need to find the central station on google maps.
Lodging
We stayed at the Stesicoro Exclusive House which was a gorgeous apartment and had a cozy balcony with an amazing view.
