Highs & Lows

The Lion King musical comedy in Montparnasse

The crowd in the public transportation

Itinerary Overview

I arrived in the early morning with the TGV from  Brussels Belgium to Paris France. It only takes one hour so it is really fast and comfortable (and better for our planet than the plane!). From Gare du Nord, I took the metro to my hotel in Montparnasse and to store my few luggage. I was then ready to conquer Paris for 3 days! During my stay, I did multiple activities and tried to not do the classical tourist itinerary. On the activity side, I went to the theatre and saw a wonderful musical comedy (the Lion King). Then, I walked a lot: I visited different neighbours of Paris, especially Étienne Marcel, Montparnasse, Trocadero, the Marais…where you can find a lot of good food and a lot of great boutiques if you like to do a bit of shopping (especially thrift shopping). I also visited famous places like the Champs Elysées, the Père Lachaise cimetery or the Arc du Triomphe.

I love so much the neighbour of Montparnasse. There are so many different things you can do there, it is so alive. Here are some of the ones I prefer.
This place is very well known for it’s night life. It has a lot of bars and restaurants that are always very crowded. At any time of the day, you can see people drinking at terrasses (by bad or good weather also). I recommend you to go to the café « La Gaité » which is very famous for its happy hours from 5 to 6pm. Their margaritas are great you should give them a try! Next to it, there is a sushi place, not too expensive, the service is quick and the food is really good!
I also recommend you to go to one of the many theatres around. I went to see the musical comedy « the Lion King » and it was really an unforgettable experience!
